Hobbs The Kitchen Shop is a great, little independent kitchen store at the top of Causeway Head in Penzance. Alongside some of the other wonderful shops in the town, it’s the perfect destination for a weekend of shopping in Cornwall.
Hobbs was opened in 1994 and they’re still going strong twenty-one years later. They have great customer service and the staff are all keen cooks, so love nothing better than swapping recipes and chatting about how to get the best from your cookware.
They stock a wide range of kitchenware, from pots & pans to gadgets & widgets. For such a small space they really do have everything you could possibly need, and if they don’t have it in stock already, they always do their best to source it for you.
As well as some great value for money items they also try to support local designers and manufacturers such as: British designers like Joseph Joseph and Sophie Allport as well as Cornish textiles from Betty Boyns based in nearby St Just. Alan Silverwood Bakeware is another great UK made brand, perhaps you’ve seen some of their silvery cake tins on a popular bake show?
This is one of our favourite shops in Penzance, so if you’re in town we’d definitely recommend a visit.
