One of the most famous and beautiful golden sand beaches in Cornwall, Porthcurno is a breath-taking tropical paradise that will transport you to the Caribbean. This beach in the valley of Porthcurno village is sheltered by cliffs on both sides and is overlooked by the famous Minack Theatre.
This beach is very popular and the large carpark gets full quick so if you’re visiting during summer we’d recommend getting there early to reserve a spot. With all the facilities you’d need this beach is perfect for a beach day picnic and when the tides out you can walk over to the neighbouring beach, Pedn Vounder. There is a walk of approximately 250m from the car park to beach as well as steep steps leading down to the beach, so there is no wheelchair access. There’s a seasonal lifeguard service.
Please note: There is a seasonal dog ban on this beach and many others in Cornwall. Dogs are welcome to go on the beach except between 1st May and 30th September when a dog ban is in place.
