Porthminster Beach, the second of St Ives’ blue flag beaches, is a sheltered, family friendly beach with golden sands all the facilities you could need. This includes the excellent Porthminster Beach Café, a car park, seasonal lifeguards, toilet facilities, nearby shops, and a car park. It’s a great option for a windy day as it’s much more sheltered than Porthmeor. It’s also conveniently located below the St Ives Branch Line station, so it’s easy to get to.
Please note: There is a seasonal dog ban on this beach and many others in Cornwall. Dogs are welcome to go on the beach except between 1st May and 30th September when a dog ban is in place.
