Summerleaze Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Bude, partly due to the fact that it’s so close to town, as well as it’s expansive golden sands. There’s plenty of room so even on it hot summer’s day it never feels too crowded.
There’s also a large breakwater that provides protection to the harbour and the mouth of the Bude canal. The sea-water bathing pool on the other side means you can swim in any conditions, regardless of the currents of tides.
The beach has lifeguard cover from May until September and there’s a large car park right next to the beach. Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round but must be on a lead from 21st May to 30th September between 10am-6pm.
