Newquay is a popular seaside destination on the North Coast of Cornwall that’s known for its great surfing beaches. Newquay resides 6 miles North of Perranporth and 10 miles south of Padstow on the Atlantic Coast and has been undergoing a lot of regeneration in the past few years. Beaches in Newquay

The town’s main attraction is the abundance of beautiful beaches, all within a stone’s throw away from the town centre, including; Towan Beach, home of the iconic Island, Fistral Beach, Tolcarne Beach, Great Western, Porth and Lusty Glaze. Further out of town is one of Cornwall’s most famous beaches; Watergate Bay, as well as Crantock, Hollywell Bay, Mawgan Porth and Bedruthan Steps.

Things to do in Newquay

Newquay is extremely family friendly with excellent days out for all ages including Newquay Zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium. One of Cornwall’s biggest music festivals is Boardmasters which takes place annually on Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach in August. The line-up this year includes; Dizzee Rascal, Jorja Smith, Franz Ferdinand and Florence and the Machines.

Newquay is also home to Cornwall‘s only airport and has regular flights to host of city destinations in the United Kingdom and Europe.
